Company: Eton Bridge Partners Ltd
Apply for the Group Financial Controller
Location: London
Job Description:

Eton Bridge Partners have been retained on a confidential search to appoint a Group Financial Controller for a dynamic, PE-backed business with international operations and a compelling growth story.

Reporting directly to the CFO and operating as a key member of a lean, high-performing finance function, this is a hands‑on role requiring a commercially aware finance professional who combines rigorous financial control with the flexibility and pragmatism to thrive in a fast‑moving, evolving environment.

This is a pivotal appointment within a business undergoing genuine transformation, where the Group Financial Controller will own the financial control agenda and play a central role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting across a multi‑entity, cross-border structure.

The Role

  • Owning and delivering the group budget process, ensuring robust, well‑evidenced financial planning across the business.
  • Managing the year‑end audit and statutory accounts process, including liaison with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Ensuring accurate, timely month‑end closing across the group, with a rigorous approach to balance sheet management and bookkeeping integrity.
  • Overseeing group consolidation across a multi‑entity structure, including management of currency impacts and cross‑border transactions.
  • Handling R&D tax claims working with external advisors to maximise available reliefs.
  • Supporting any financing or refinancing activity as required.
  • Contributing to the broader development of the finance function, including potential implementation of a group consolidation system.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA), ideally trained in a Big Four, larger mid‑tier or reputable mid‑sized practice.
  • Solid technical accounting skills, including direct experience of group consolidation, UK GAAP statutory accounts, and multi‑currency reporting.
  • Experience gained within a UK‑based manufacturing, industrial or similarly complex business with cross‑border operations.
  • A genuinely hands‑on approach: comfortable getting into the detail, rolling up sleeves, and owning processes end to end without reliance on a large team beneath them.
  • Sound commercial awareness and the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders including the CFO, external auditors and tax advisors.
  • A collaborative, adaptable working style suited to a business that is growing and changing quickly.

Location: South London (hybrid working available)
