Project Quantity Surveyor

We have an exciting opportunity to work with an established international General Contractor working on exciting Data centre and infrastructure projects with high profile clients, working and travelling across Europe in countries such as UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, and Austria, Finland.

This role offers great client exposure, fast track progression opportunities, the ability to run and manage your own projects with the potential to have multiple projects under your control.

About the role

You will be managing various other contractors beneath you, ensuring project operations run smoothly while managing upstream communication to the clients. There is a high level of detailed reporting required and you must be able to create cost + plans for clients, substantiate any financial plans, adhere to health and safety standards managing your own cost reports, and any and all applications while working on FSA contracts.

A PQS or QS will manage projects with values of £15 – £20 million, managing subcontractors and packages independently, on a variety of projects vary but a majority will be groundworks and footpath based for datacentres.

A QS / PQS will be expected to travel across Europe to multiple sites within their first two months of employment, then after you have settled into the role you can operate 1 week in the UK, and 1 week in Europe as a cycle. You must be ready and prepared to spend sustained periods overseas when required, up to one month or more at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and run projects up to £20 million in value
  • Creating ‘Cost plus’ reporting, applications and financial reporting organisation and submitting skills, CVRs, Lump sum, cashflow forecasting and other managing reporting duties
  • Travel across European sites as required
  • Subcontractor management and package delivery
  • Upstream communication effectiveness and client facing duties
  • Plan for and implement change on projects when required

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel within Europe
  • Ability to stay abroad for sustained periods of time
  • Project management experience
  • Subcontractor management experience
  • Client liaison and meeting experience
  • Ownership and accountability of all work under your leadership
  • Extreme attention to detail and skill at producing any and all reporting
  • Previous Data centre or Groundworks experience (Not a firm Requirement)
