Job Description:

Account Director, McCann London

Hybrid role with 3 days in our Bishopsgate Office

A bit about the agency:

We are 150 people dedicated to telling the truth and telling it well, because we believe when a truth is told well things change for the better. Fuelled by an obsession with truth and the richness of a connected network, our work lives on the edge of mainstream culture, building enduring brands, growing businesses and giving our people a platform to grow.

We’ve delivered joy with a little help from Snoop Dog, Katy Perry and Xtina and Latto for ‘Did Somebody Say Just Eat’, helped L’Oréal show people ‘They’re Worth It’, given everyone the right to access great quality food most notably with Kevin the Carrot for Aldi, and put a ‘Priceless’ tag on Mastercard, to name a few.

A Bit About the Role:

We’re looking for an exceptional and experienced Senior Account Manager ready to step up to Account Director level, or a newly-promoted Account Director looking to develop their career in a creative agency environment. This is a fully integrated role working across a wide range of channels and you’ll be helping to deliver bold, culturally resonant campaigns that span everything from social and digital to experiential and broadcast.

You’ll be joining a high-performing team on a flagship client in the FMCG sector – a leading consumer FMCG brand that’s central to our agency’s growth. Our work on this account has been recognised with multiple awards, and we’re looking for a confident leader who can own the account independently, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and drive creative excellence.

You’ll need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a proven track record as a key point of contact on major integrated accounts, and the confidence to lead with minimal support.

Specifically, Duties Will Include:

  • Leading and overseeing the day-to-day running of integrated campaigns across all channels, with strategic oversight of creative development and delivery
  • Managing senior client relationships, acting as the key point of contact and trusted strategic partner
  • Owning timelines, budgets, and resource allocation – managing P&L responsibility for the account
  • Collaborating with creative, strategy, and production teams to ensure campaigns are executed to the highest standards and deliver on brief
  • Chairing key stakeholder meetings and driving alignment across all teams
  • Mentoring Account Managers and supporting the broader team development
  • Overseeing asset development and delivery across digital, social, OOH and broadcast
  • Identifying and pitching new business opportunities and campaign extensions
  • Proactively driving innovation and creative excellence – pushing boundaries while maintaining brand consistency
  • Building long-term strategic partnerships with clients and internal teams

A Bit About You & Your Previous Experience:

  • Proven track record as a Senior Account Manager or Account Director in a creative agency environment, ideally with consumer brands experience
  • Deep understanding of integrated 360 campaigns with the ability to lead complex, multi-channel delivery with confidence and minimal support
  • Demonstrated success as a key point of contact on major client accounts
  • Excellent strategic thinking combined with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of brand building, consumer insights, and how to translate this into creative briefs
  • Confident managing multiple workstreams, budgets, and competing priorities
  • A passion for creativity, culture, and the ability to challenge and inspire creative teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and thriving under pressure
  • This is a role for someone ready to take on genuine seniority and autonomy, with the capability to grow the account and lead independently

A Bit About Perks of the Job:

As well as the more standard benefits of holiday, pension, private medical insurance, life assurance and group income protection, we offer:

  • Three ‘Time Well Taken’ days throughout the year where we switch off collectively
  • On-demand 1:1 mental health and coaching support through MyndUp (alongside a free Headspace membership)
  • Subsidised on-site massages, haircuts and manicures – plus cuddles from furry friends (we’re a dog-friendly office)
  • Free onsite breakfast, snacks and drinks, with regular ‘Lounge Nights’ in our rooftop social space
  • Learning tools like SPARK, LinkedIn Learning, and access to external development via NABS, WACL, IPA and more
  • Your birthday off – because who wants to work on their birthday?
  • A tree planted in your name for every year you celebrate your McCanniversary
  • Cycle to Work scheme and facilities including showers and hair styling appliances
  • Discounts with partners such as Eataly, Merlin and cinemas, plus access to independent financial advice
