PE Global is currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our multinational engineering and manufacturing client based in Peterborough, UK.The role is an initial 9-month contract and the rate for this role is up to £28.70 p/hour (PAYE) or £38.95 p/hour (Umbrella)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and guidance on manufacturing projects across Assembly and Final Assembly, supporting productivity, efficiency, cost improvements, and successful product introduction.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop process designs, PFMEAs, control plans, standard work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.

• Support manufacturing improvement, development, and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from initiation through implementation, managing scope, resources, timing, and delivery.

• Develop and implement process improvements, ensuring safe installation, robust operation, and compliance with quality, safety, and customer requirements.

• Work closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to optimise manufacturing methods, support industrialisation activities, and improve design for manufacture.

• Monitor equipment and process performance, identify manufacturing issues, and implement effective corrective actions.

• Support prototype, pilot, and validation build activities, ensuring manufacturing readiness and issue resolution between project gateways.

• Identify and implement enhancements to manufacturing equipment, tooling, automation, and production systems to improve operational performance.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, velocity, and cost reduction.

Requirements

• Strong manufacturing engineering experience within a production, assembly, or industrial manufacturing environment.

• Experience delivering manufacturing improvement, industrialisation, or New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.

• Good understanding of manufacturing process control tools including PFMEA, control plans, standard work, validation activities, and process capability studies.

• Proven project management and delivery skills, with the ability to manage priorities, risks, and project milestones.

• Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and data-driven decision making.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, and supplier teams.

• Engineering degree preferred; however, candidates with equivalent hands-on manufacturing engineering experience will also be considered.

• Experience within automotive, off-highway, aerospace, pharmaceutical, or other process-driven manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
