Supervising Social Worker, Staffordshire and Surrounding Areas

We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Supervising Social Worker to join our FFP family.

The practical bits

Role: Supervising Social Worker

Location: Home-based, covering foster families across Staffordshire and the surrounding area. We would welcome applications from candidates based in Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Cheshire or nearby areas, provided they are able to travel across the region.

Reports to: Fostering Manager

Contract: Full‑time (flexible/condensed hours or 4‑day week considered)

Salary Scale From £34,514 to £42,656, depending on experience 

Closing Date: Friday the 10th

Interviews: 16th of July

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide high‑quality supervision and support to foster parents
  • Support effective matching for children
  • Prepare reports for reviews and attend panel
  • Participate in out‑of‑hours rota
  • Complete Form F assessments

What we’re looking forIn the role, you’ll:

·        Provide high-quality supervision and support to foster parents

·        Support matching, placement stability and positive outcomes for children

·        Prepare reports, attend reviews and contribute to panel work

·        Complete Form F assessments

·        Build safe, positive relationships with children and support their participation

·        Contribute to foster parent training, support groups, events and recruitment activity

·        Work as part of a supportive team, with strong supervision and reflective practice

What you’ll bring

You’ll need to be a qualified social worker with Social Work England registration, strong safeguarding knowledge and the confidence to support, challenge and develop foster parents in a constructive way.

·        Social Work Degree, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent

·        Social Work England registration

·        Experience supporting children and families

·        Strong communication, organisation and IT skills

·        Ability to work flexibly, meet deadlines and use reflective practice

·        Full driving licence and access to a car

·        Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, confidentiality and teamwork

It would also be helpful if you have:

  • 3+ years post‑qualifying experience
  • Experience completing assessments
  • Knowledge of fostering legislation
