Help Shape the Future of Neurological Rehabilitation

At Brainkind, we’re dedicated to improving the lives of people living with brain injuries and neurological conditions. As our Philanthropy Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping us expand our services, develop new facilities and create life-changing opportunities for the people we support.

This is far more than a traditional fundraising role. You’ll be responsible for building meaningful relationships with major donors, high-net-worth individuals and corporate partners who share our vision and want to make a lasting impact.

You’ll be confident engaging with senior stakeholders, comfortable having conversations about significant charitable investments and motivated by seeing the tangible difference that philanthropic support can make to people’s lives.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading Capital Fundraising Initiatives

  • You will take the lead on developing and delivering capital fundraising campaigns that support major infrastructure projects and service developments across Brainkind.
  • Working closely with senior leaders and Trustees, you’ll create compelling cases for support, identify opportunities for transformational giving and secure major gifts of £25,000 and above. You’ll also monitor fundraising performance and ensure activity remains aligned to agreed objectives and targets.
  • Building Relationships with High-Net-Worth Individuals
  • You’ll develop and manage a portfolio of major donors and prospective supporters, taking the time to understand what motivates them and how they want to make a difference.
  • You’ll be naturally relationship-focused, confident networking and comfortable engaging with senior individuals. Whether through introductions, events, research or existing networks, you’ll identify new opportunities, develop tailored engagement plans and build long-term philanthropic partnerships.
  • You’ll lead donor meetings, stewardship activity and gift discussions, ensuring every supporter feels connected to the impact of their contribution.

Growing Corporate Partnerships

  • You’ll develop and implement a corporate fundraising strategy that aligns with Brainkind’s mission and values.
  • This will include identifying and securing new corporate partnerships, sponsorship opportunities and strategic collaborations. From employee fundraising initiatives to multi-year partnerships and CSR programmes, you’ll be responsible for building relationships that generate sustainable income and long-term value.
  • You’ll also manage key partner relationships, ensuring excellent communication, reporting and impact measurement throughout the partnership journey.

Supporting Strategy and Organisational Growth

  • As a key member of the fundraising team, you’ll contribute to wider fundraising strategy, annual income planning and future growth initiatives.
  • You’ll work collaboratively with communications, operational and service teams to develop compelling donor materials and stories that demonstrate the impact of Brainkind’s work.
  • You’ll maintain accurate donor records, manage fundraising pipelines through CRM systems and ensure all fundraising activity remains compliant with relevant regulations and best practice.

About You

We’re looking for someone who combines strong commercial awareness with a genuine passion for relationship-led fundraising.

You may currently be working as a Philanthropy Manager, Major Donor Manager, Corporate Partnerships Manager, Trusts & Foundations Manager or in a similar senior fundraising role.

You’ll bring:

  • Significant experience in major donor fundraising and/or capital appeals.
  • Experience securing and managing high-value donor relationships.
  • A track record of developing corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Experience creating and delivering successful fundraising strategies.
  • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, major donors and prospective supporters.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Financial literacy with the ability to manage budgets, forecasts and fundraising pipelines.
  • Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate donor records.
  • The ability to identify, research and develop new fundraising opportunities.
  • A strong understanding of donor cultivation, stewardship and major gift fundraising.
  • A commitment to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and alignment with Brainkind’s values.

Why Join Brainkind?

This is an opportunity to join a charity making a real difference to people living with complex neurological conditions and brain injuries.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting capital projects, build meaningful partnerships and secure funding that directly supports service development, innovation and improved outcomes for the people we support.

If you’re a relationship-builder, a strategic thinker and someone who enjoys bringing people together behind a meaningful cause, we’d love to hear from you.
