H-Power is a UK-based, AIM-listed clean energy company developing zero-emissions hydrogen power systems. Using ammonia to produce low-carbon hydrogen at the point of need, and fuel cells to convert it into reliable, off-grid power, H-Power offers a scalable, practical alternative to fossil fuels, serving construction, infrastructure, transport and power generation sectors.
Behind the technology is a team driven by a shared purpose: to accelerate the shift away from fossil fuels.
The Role
H-Power is seeking a Technical Applications Manager to play a key role in the deployment of its ammonia cracking and hydrogen power generation technologies.
Acting as the technical interface between customers, engineering and project delivery teams, you will work closely with prospective customers to understand their operational requirements, develop integrated technical solutions and support the successful deployment of H-Power’s technologies.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing role combining technical expertise, applications engineering and solution development. You’ll help customers understand how H-Power’s technology can be integrated into their existing operations, supporting projects from initial technical discussions through to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical point of contact throughout the customer engagement process.
- Engage with customers to understand operational challenges and identify suitable H-Power solutions.
- Develop technical solutions and system configurations to meet customer requirements.
- Support site integration studies and advise customers on the implementation of H-Power’s technology within their existing infrastructure.
- Work closely with Engineering to define system architecture, scope of supply and technical solutions.
- Lead technical workshops, customer meetings, site visits and product demonstrations.
- Develop technical proposals, application studies and supporting documentation.
- Provide technical support during bid, tender and due diligence activities.
- Support project handover into engineering, manufacturing and deployment teams.
- Represent H-Power at industry events, exhibitions and customer meetings.
Essential Requirements
- Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong technical background within hydrogen, fuel cells, electrolysers, industrial gases, process engineering or energy systems.
- Experience supporting the integration, deployment or application of complex engineered products or systems.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, process engineering, gas handling and system integration.
- Experience developing technical solutions, system configurations or FEED-stage engineering studies.
- Confident communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working directly with customers, EPC contractors, engineering consultancies and industrial end users.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the UK and Europe.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within hydrogen, ammonia, electrolysers, fuel cells, industrial gases or industrial decarbonisation technologies.
- Background in applications engineering, systems engineering, technical solutions or technical sales.
- Experience supporting the deployment or commissioning of industrial energy systems.
- Familiarity with industrial codes, standards and safety requirements.
- Understanding of industrial sectors including construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, utilities, ports or power generation.
