Are you an experienced administrator looking for a role with real purpose?

At Pennyhooks Farm Trust, you’ll become the operational heart of a small charity making a genuine difference to the lives of autistic adults – working in a beautiful rural environment where your contribution really matters.

About Us

Pennyhooks Farm Trust is an educational charity based on a working organic farm on the Oxfordshire/Swindon border.

We provide structured, long-term farm and work experience for autistic adults, particularly those with complex needs – helping them develop skills, confidence and independence in a supportive, purposeful setting.

Our team of around 20 staff is dedicated, close-knit and passionate about the impact of our work. We are proud members of the Soil Association and Social Farms & Gardens.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on position where no two days are the same.

You will manage day-to-day administration across the charity, provide financial and HR support, and act as Clerk to the Board of Trustees. You will be trusted to work independently, manage competing priorities, and bring both rigour and warmth to your work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Office management, including correspondence, filing systems, supplies and diary coordination
  • Admin support for the Fundraiser and fund-raising applications
  • Financial administration, including, banking, and liaison with external accountants
  • HR administration, including staff records, DBS checks, onboarding and training compliance
  • Governance support as Clerk to the Board (agendas, minutes, Charity Commission compliance)
  • Maintaining health & safety and statutory records
  • Supporting events and accreditation processes
  • Acting as a welcoming first point of contact for families, visitors, funders and partners

About You

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in office administration or coordination
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Discretion when handling sensitive information
  • A warm, patient and adaptable approach

You will be comfortable working in an environment supporting autistic adults with complex needs.

Desirable (not essential):

  • Charity sector experience
  • Experience supporting trustees or governance processes
  • Experience of financial administration and bookkeeping systems (e.g. Xero)
  • Knowledge of DBS processes

Additional Information

  • This is a fully on-site role in a rural location, so reliable transport is likely to be required
  • Occasional flexibility may be needed for events or meetings

Safeguarding and Inclusion

Pennyhooks Farm Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates and are happy to discuss reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.
