An excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Surveyor looking to step into a senior role with genuine responsibility across both Property and Asset Management within a growing, multidisciplinary consultancy.
Madison Berkeley is delighted to be partnering with a well-established commercial property consultancy in London as they look to appoint a Senior Management Surveyor within their Asset & Property Management team.
This role offers exposure to a diverse nationwide portfolio spanning office, retail, industrial and leisure assets, whilst providing the opportunity to mentor junior surveyors, advise key clients and play a strategic role in driving portfolio performance.
The opportunity has arisen following the successful progression of the current Senior Surveyor, who has moved into a client-side role with one of the firm’s key asset management clients. This highlights the calibre of exposure, client interaction and career development opportunities available within the team.
The Role
Working closely with senior leadership, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day Property & asset management of commercial portfolios while delivering proactive asset management advice to enhance investment performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a nationwide mixed-use commercial portfolio
- Overseeing service charge budgets, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Managing rent collection, arrears and tenant relationships
- Undertaking regular property inspections and ensuring compliance standards are maintained
- Supporting lease renewals, rent reviews and wider landlord & tenant matters
- Providing strategic asset management advice to maximise returns
- Managing contractors, suppliers and facilities management services
- Supporting acquisitions, portfolio transitions and new client instructions
- Mentoring junior surveyors and working closely with facilities management teams
- Delivering high-quality reporting and advice to a diverse client base
About You
- Ideally MRICS qualified (experienced non-chartered surveyors will also be considered)
- Strong background in commercial Property Management
- Experience preparing and managing service charge budgets and reconciliations
- Good understanding of landlord & tenant legislation, lease events and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of facilities management and health & safety obligations
- Strong communication, analytical and client-facing skills
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
