Job Description:

Contract 6 months. Location: Manchester – 3 days a week on client site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand objectives, challenges, and requirements.
  • Elicit, analyse, and document business and data requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, Data Engineers, and Analysts to support delivery.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirements-gathering sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Support backlog refinement and prioritisation activities.
  • Ensure requirements are clearly communicated and understood across delivery teams.
  • Assist with data analysis and validation to support business decision‑making.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimisation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst within data‑focused projects.
  • Experience working alongside Product Managers or within product‑led delivery teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, analyse, and document business requirements.
  • Experience writing high‑quality user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to query and analyse data.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience working with data warehouses, reporting platforms, or analytics solutions.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting digital product development and enhancement initiatives.
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
  • Experience in the financial sector.
