Core Geotechnical Consultancy Services
- Desk Studies / Feasibility Assessments
- Ground Investigations – scoping, planning, procuring, supervising, managing and reporting
- Earthwork design and specification for cuttings, embankments, rock slopes, reinforced soils, etc.
- Design of foundations, retaining structures and ground improvement schemes
- Technical review and Geotechnical Risk Analysis
- Geotechnical Asset Management

Responsibilities
- Provide support and assistance to Senior or Principal Engineers on a variety of ground engineering schemes.
- Take ownership of and lead specific project deliverables from start to finish.
- Prepare designs, calculations and documentation to meet quality, cost and programme criteria.
- Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attend progress meetings and respond to queries.
- Contribute to bid preparation and the general work‑winning function.
- Play an active role in effective Health and Safety practices within the team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Working towards Chartered or Incorporated status with the Institution of Civil Engineers, Geological Society of London, or another relevant professional body.
- Developed experience and expertise in the geotechnical field from an Assistant Engineer role or equivalent.
- Solid knowledge of technical reporting procedures in line with Network Rail Standards, National Highways standards (CD 622), and design production in accordance with EC7, the DMRB and the MCHW.
- Ownership of deliverable preparation and strong commercial awareness, including CDM and risk assessment.
- Experience managing and communicating hazards and risks on projects, applying appropriate risk mitigation and transference.
- Understanding of interface management, ensuring own deliverables align with those from other disciplines.
- Proficiency in relevant software and analytical tools (e.g., Wallap, SlopeW, Plaxis 2D or 3D).
