Job Description

Quality Engineer – Electronics – Nottingham– LM1250a

Salary: Competitive

Job Term: Full Time/Permanent

Job Outline

My client, who is a leading manufacturer of specialist electronic equipment, now seeks an experienced Quality Engineer to join their growing team based in Nottinghamshire.

As the Quality Engineer, you will be the gatekeeper of product excellence for my client’s manufacturing floor. You will oversee, optimise, and enforce quality control processes for all manufacturing.

The main purpose of the role will be to minimise defects, drive root‑cause analysis on production failures, and ensure that every device rolling off the line meets both internal standards and regulatory requirements.

Within the role you will monitor daily production lines to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality standards, and implement and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) to track yield metrics, identify trends, and catch manufacturing drift before it causes failures.

You will lead investigations into in‑process failures, component defects, and functional test failures, and identify and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to permanently eliminate manufacturing and assembly defects.

You will also partner with the wider Engineering team to transition products smoothly from prototype to production and ensure full compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and electronic‑specific standards (e.g., IPC standards for solder joint acceptability).

Qualifications

It is expected that you will have a minimum bachelor’s degree in an engineering subject, along with at least 2 years of hands‑on quality engineering experience within an electronics manufacturing environment (consumer electronics, medical devices, automotive electronics, or aerospace).

Desirable skills include Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification, Lean Practitioner certification, and experience handling regulatory compliance audits (such as CE or ISO 9001).

Additional information

Candidates MUST be eligible to live and work in the UK. Copies of Passports and/or Visas will be requested for verification.
