Mission
To ensure Safety is priority number one and that the UK sites maintain a safe work environment with zero injuries and that the business is sustainable, minimizing any negative impact on the surroundings and making sure to protect the environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Together with respective site management team set goals, targets and activities, and drive follow up of the annual road map/action plans to improve HSE, aligned with EMEA strategy and plans and other mandatory documents.
Responsibilities
- Monitor laws and regulations linked to HSE in the business, plan and support the implementation of necessary measures to meet current and future legislation.
- Ensure that local processes needed for the HSE Management System are established and maintained and train the organization in the Management System.
- Systematically identify, assess and document environmental, health and safety, and fire safety risks and develop processes and action plans to mitigate the risks.
- Develop and hands-on support the implementation of proactive safety tools and activities on site, such as hazard identification, near miss reporting, safety alert stand downs, toolbox talks, BBS etc.
- Drive and hands-on support the organization to continuously improve HSE at UK sites.
- Plan and ensure that internal and external audits and other obligatory HSE-related inspections and controls are performed according to the plan.
- Identify and make sure necessary trainings for employees related to HSE, including mandatory refreshing/updating training.
- Summarize and analyze historical HSE related data and KPIs in order to be able to prioritize the future.
- Responsible for monthly data collection and reporting.
- Attend group-wide HSE resource group(s).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Safety, Environmental or scientific or related engineering field.
- Languages: Excellent command of English.
Required Skills
- At least 5 years’ industry experience.
- Practical working knowledge of HSE tools and techniques.
- Several years of experience from working with Safety Culture change and development.
- Several years of practical work experience and continuous improving waste-, water-, energy- and chemical management.
- Specialist knowledge, awareness and understanding of different relevant UK laws and regulations and of most widely used international standards.
- 3+ years’ experience in ISO14001, ISO45001 or similar accredited HSE management systems.
- Auditor experiences.
- Driver’s licence is a requirement due to the travel ratio associated with the role.

Additional Information
- The position is 100% site-based at Cradley Heath, Birmingham site.
- Candidates applying for this role must reside within a commutable distance of Cradley Heath, Birmingham site and be willing to be on-site daily. This role does not include working from home.
- There is a regular travel requirement to visit locations based in Chester and in Waterlooville.
- The role has zero direct reports.
