Salary: £28,402 – £33,413 per annum + pension

The role
A Project Support Officer supports the delivery of projects, programmes and portfolios by coordinating activities that enable successful outcomes and smooth day‑to‑day operation.
Working closely with Programme Managers and project teams you will:
- Coordinate business management actions, maintain key documentation and support governance and reporting processes.
- Monitor progress across projects or workstreams, contribute to risk and issue management and, with direction, take responsibility for overseeing smaller projects.
- Maintain programme/project file management, boards and meetings; provide support to ensure efficient operation of day‑to‑day activities.
- Serve as main point of contact for responses to external requests for information and engage with internal and external contacts.
- Monitor programme/project spend, compile budget updates, maintain risk and issue logs and document decisions.
- Escalate issues and share insights to keep Programme and Projects Managers informed.
The experience you will bring
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build working relationships at all levels across the organisation.
- Experience in a project support role within a large, complex organisation.
- Structured and planned approach to work.
- GCSE or equivalent by experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development in a relevant professional area.
- Curious and eager to learn and develop in a dynamic environment.
- Experience working within a political environment and knowledge of a public sector setting.
