Electrical Engineer (Contract)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a well-established engineering organisation based in the Farnborough area.

Electrical Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:

• Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work on industrial pump systems and associated equipment
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on pumps, motors, VSDs, control panels, and instrumentation
• Test, inspect, and commission electrical installations in line with industry standards
• Work with single-phase and three-phase systems, motors, drives, and automated control systems
• Support installation and upgrade projects involving pump stations and industrial plant equipment
• Improve system reliability through preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with current electrical regulations and health & safety requirements
• Complete accurate documentation, maintenance records, and certification where required

Electrical Engineer Ideal Candidate:

• Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
• Proven experience working with industrial pumps or pump station environments
• Strong background in electrical installation, maintenance, and fault finding
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
• Experience with motors, control panels, variable speed drives (VSDs), and PLC-controlled systems (desirable)
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach
• Good understanding of electrical compliance standards and safe working practices
