About the Role

I am seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to support a major data centre project. This freelance role will focus on delivering mechanical packages across design, install, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical delivery across design, install & commissioning
• Manage subcontractors and site teams
• Review drawings and ensure compliance with standards
• Oversee HVAC, cooling and piping systems installation
• Support commissioning, testing, and handover
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on-site

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Lead Mechanical Engineer on data centres (essential)
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and building services systems
• Experience in freelance/contract roles
• Background in commissioning and project delivery
• Strong stakeholder and team management skills
