Senior Finance Manager – Controls & Compliance – (SFM0626.1)
We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager – Controls & Compliance to join our Finance team. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring robust financial governance, statutory compliance and financial controls across Gist’s UK and Ireland legal entities.
This is a highly visible role that combines financial controls, statutory reporting, audit management and technical accounting, providing the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across Gist and M&S.

Compensation
Salary: Competitive
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Monday- Friday 9-5pm
Responsibilities
- Leading the financial controls and compliance framework across Gist UK and Ireland, ensuring appropriate controls are designed, documented and evidenced
- Managing the preparation, review and completion of statutory accounts for multiple legal entities
- Acting as the key contact for internal and external auditors, coordinating audit activity and ensuring timely responses to audit requirements
- Driving continuous improvement of financial controls and supporting the implementation of new governance and compliance requirements
- Providing technical accounting expertise and guidance to finance and business stakeholders
- Coordinating corporation tax reporting requirements and wider finance compliance activities
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Gist, M&S Group Finance, auditors and external advisors
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred)
- Significant experience in statutory reporting and financial compliance
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and audit requirements
- Experience managing external audit relationships and year-end reporting processes
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to interpret and apply accounting standards
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge at all levels
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
