Learning Support Manager (AFA) – Hours: Full time, Term Time 5 days – Location: The Brian Clarke Academy, Bloom Street, Oldham – Salary: £28,598 – £31,022 (full‑time yearly equivalent). Actual Salary: £23,154 to £25,913 per annum (Grade 4).
We invite applications for the role of Learning Support Manager to support the next phase of the Achievement for All Department, which assists all students who have a barrier to learning, including SEND students and those under investigation.
Responsibilities
- Support students lesson by lesson within the AFA Room and work with the Achievement for All Leadership to plan and implement the daily AFA timetable.
- Monitor students in AFA lessons and support their work and learning needs.
- Implement a regulation area within the AFA Room for students requiring bespoke intervention during lessons.
- Offer support in lessons where required, working with small groups and one‑to‑one sessions.
- Collaborate with and support the Bridge provision – on‑site Alternative Provision providing intensive support for emotional regulation and smaller group curriculum. Students complete a 6‑week placement in Bridge before transitioning back to mainstream lessons.
- Ensure flexibility, strong communication skills and creative thinking to manage the AFA room effectively, providing best support to the most vulnerable students.
