The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across engineering projects, supporting the design, development and delivery of innovative offshore renewable technologies.
You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards, while supporting the growth and development of the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across engineering and design projects
- Accountable for technical delivery, quality, cost and scope across multiple projects
- Lead mechanical design, analysis and technology development activities
- Deliver projects across multidisciplinary teams
- Support business development and new project opportunities
- Mentor and support engineers, graduates and interns
- Ensure quality, compliance and best practice across all work
- Engage with external partners and represent ORE Catapult at industry events and forums
About You
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered (or working towards)
- Significant experience (typically 7+ years) in engineering design
- Strong knowledge of engineering tools, processes and best practice
- Proven experience delivering projects with ownership and accountability
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Able to make sound technical decisions and operate with a high level of autonomy
