About us

HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales. Our roles support service users and colleagues within HMCTS, where people and businesses access potentially life‑changing justice.

Your role

You will be responsible for the efficient use of courtrooms and court staff through effective listing and control of court business. This includes maintaining the court diary system, coordinating work allocation to courtrooms to optimise resource use, and minimising delays and wasted time.

You will set team priorities and objectives so that performance targets are met, and collaborate with other court teams to ensure judicial resources are available for scheduled hearing dates. You will also work with the Judiciary and Legal Advisers to handle case adjournments, remit cases and other listing matters.

Qualifications and experience

  • Ability to motivate and support a team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve effective performance.
  • Experience in an administrative role within a customer‑focussed environment.
  • IT proficiency with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
