Responsibilities

  • Provide effective first‑line supervision for all trading activity on the Ring and LMEselect.
  • Participate in determination of LME’s Futures reference prices on the Ring and LMEselect.
  • Serve on the Ring Disciplinary Committee to enforce Ring Dealing Regulations and Code of Conduct, including imposing disciplinary procedures.
  • Manage the Error Trade Policy and Dynamic Price Bands on LMEselect.
  • Participate in the Benchmark Pricing Function to determine Platinum and Palladium auction prices.
  • Determine closing prices for traded options using LMEprism.
  • Learn all processes across LME venues and Trading Operations functions.
  • Use quantitative skills to support LME strategic business initiatives.
  • Analyze periodic reviews or recalibrations for trading methodologies and volatility control mechanisms within Trading Operations.
  • Contribute to TOWG monthly meetings on quantitative‑related projects for Trading Operations.
  • Develop, automate, and manage processes in Trading Operations under the Quantitative Governance Framework.
  • Ensure reference prices are determined in a way that promotes the LME and meets commercial and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish settlement prices on LMEselect for ferrous prices and new product launches for cash‑settled futures.
  • Provide regular updates to LMEC on pricing matters and ensure accurate daily transmission via LMEprice.
  • Provide market surveillance and referrals from trading activity across LME venues.
  • Handle stakeholder queries regarding pricing procedures and Trading Operations.
  • Recommend enhancements to improve price discovery procedures and participate in related projects.
  • Provide tutorials and education to LME staff on price discovery for futures and options.

Experience Required

  • Four years of experience working for a member/client, another exchange, or the LME in a trading environment.
  • Knowledge or experience in electronic trading.
  • Good knowledge of Benchmark Administrator responsibilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of market terminology and LME Rules and Regulation.
  • Understanding of the forward price curve for each metal.
  • Understanding of dealing regulations.
  • Knowledge of traded options where appropriate.
