Freelance Site Manager – Holiday Cover
Barnstaple, North Devon | 2-Week Contract | Start Thursday 2nd July
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to provide holiday cover on a live residential housing development in Barnstaple for a two-week period commencing Thursday 2nd July.
The project is being delivered by one of the UK’s largest and most established residential developers, renowned for delivering high-quality new homes and sustainable communities across the country. With a strong reputation for quality, customer satisfaction and health & safety excellence, the business remains a market leader within the housebuilding sector.
The Role
Reporting into the Contracts Manager, you will assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works progress safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing subcontractors and site labour
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality
- Conducting daily site inspections and toolbox talks
- Monitoring programme progress and resolving site issues
- Coordinating deliveries and site logistics
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry regulations
- Liaising with technical, commercial and customer care teams as required
- Maintaining accurate site records and documentation
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within residential housebuilding
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
- Strong knowledge of NHBC standards and health & safety legislation
- Ability to take ownership of a live development with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
