The Audit Team

Our team provides a full range of internal audit services to the Council, Kirklees Active Leisure and West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service. We require experienced individuals who can contribute immediately by carrying out a wide range of internal audits according to professional standards.

The Role

We are looking for applicants capable of undertaking high‑level internal audits across the Audit Plan, including special investigations and other ad hoc work. Occasional supervision, directing and motivating of other staff will also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake high‑level internal audits in all areas of the Audit Plan, including special investigations and ad hoc assignments.
  • Supervise, direct and motivate staff in their allocated work.
  • Analyse data and present detailed information for management.
  • Deliver a high‑quality internal audit service, evaluating financial and management information accurately and quickly.
  • Produce clear, concise written outputs and keep all appropriate records within agreed time limits in accordance with Global Internal Audit Standards.

Requirements

  • CCAB qualified, or IIA, AAT or part CCAB qualified applicants considered.
  • Experience at Senior Internal Audit Officer level.
  • Proven ability to analyse data and report to management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Adaptability to new packages and IT systems.
