Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Delivery

  • Establish and maintain event management frameworks, processes and best-practice methodologies across the organisation.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination and integration between operational, commercial and technical teams.
  • Lead event review processes, planning meetings and post-event debriefs to identify efficiencies and lessons learned.
  • Act as a senior operational lead during live events, providing oversight and incident management support when required.
  • Oversee departmental budgets and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings across the event portfolio.
  • Support the integration and management of external stakeholders, including local organisers, agencies, suppliers and technical partners.

Project Management

  • Provide leadership and governance across a portfolio of complex projects and event programmes.
  • Ensure effective planning, reporting, milestone tracking and risk management processes are in place.
  • Monitor project progress, dependencies and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive improvements in project management tools, systems and ways of working.
  • Facilitate project reviews, reporting cycles and strategic planning workshops.

Venue Overlay & Event Operations

  • Lead venue overlay and temporary infrastructure delivery across international events.
  • Oversee planning, installation and removal of event infrastructure, ensuring compliance with technical, safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with technical, venue and operational teams to integrate infrastructure and logistical requirements into event delivery plans.
  • Manage suppliers, contractors and specialist delivery partners to ensure quality, efficiency and consistency.
  • Support infrastructure budgeting and procurement strategies to maximise value and scalability across events.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team across Event Project Management and Venue Overlay functions.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment across event delivery programmes.
  • Provide strategic operational leadership and support broader organisational objectives when required.

Experience & Skills

  • Significant leadership experience within large-scale event operations, project management or venue delivery environments.
  • Strong expertise in venue infrastructure, overlay, temporary structures and site delivery.
  • Proven experience managing complex stakeholder groups, suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Excellent programme and project management capabilities.
  • Strong commercial awareness, budgeting and resource planning experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through fast-paced, high-pressure operational environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a regular basis.

Opportunity

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a globally recognised organisation at the forefront of international sport and live events, playing a pivotal role in delivering world-class experiences across a diverse global event portfolio.
