Contracts Manager / Purchasing Manager {Manufacturing}

Location: Barnsley

Salary: Up to £75,000 + travel aboard + annual bonus + 25 days holiday + private healthcare + life insurance + 5% pension + training + progression.

Overview

We are a global leader in mobile elevated work platforms, supplying customers in over 40 countries. We are seeking a Contracts Manager / Purchasing Manager from a manufacturing or engineering background to develop and support our global supplier base.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the supplier base for the Hoyland site and collaborate with the Milton Keynes purchasing team to manage key commodity groups.
• Lead, support and coach the purchasing team; develop supplier relationships; negotiate commercially secure long‑term agreements.
• Support new product introduction projects and ensure smooth scheduling, procurement and delivery of materials through MRP.
• Travel internationally when required to engage with global suppliers and maintain world‑class supply chain performance.
• Manage MRP purchasing, delivery schedules, cost‑down activities and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Buyer / purchasing / procurement background.
• Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Based in Barnsley.
