National Sales Manager

Location: Field Based (UK) | Hertfordshire Head Office

Salary: £55,000–£70,000 DOE + Performance Bonus

We’re an established and growing importer and distributor of premium international food and drink brands, supplying an extensive portfolio of products to retailers across the UK.

With ambitious growth plans, we’re looking for an experienced National Sales Manager to help drive the next stage of our commercial expansion.

This isn’t a role where you’ll inherit a large portfolio of accounts. We’re looking for someone who enjoys identifying opportunities, opening doors, winning new business and building long-term partnerships with major retailers and wholesale customers.

The Role

Reporting directly to the leadership team, you’ll lead the development of new business opportunities across the UK retail landscape. You’ll be responsible for identifying potential customers, securing new listings, negotiating commercial agreements and helping shape the company’s national sales strategy.

You’ll work closely with internal teams to ensure customers receive an exceptional experience from first conversation through to successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and secure new national retail, wholesale and distribution accounts.

Build strong relationships with buyers, category managers and key decision makers.

Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to onboarding new customers.

Prepare and deliver compelling commercial presentations and proposals.

Negotiate profitable commercial agreements.

Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline and accurate CRM records.

Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.

Represent the business at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events.

Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

About You

You’ll be a commercially minded sales professional with a passion for winning new business and building lasting relationships.

You’ll ideally have:

Proven experience in National Sales, Business Development or National Account Management.

Experience within FMCG, food, beverage or consumer goods.

A successful track record of winning new retail business.

Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify growth opportunities.

The confidence to work autonomously in a field-based role.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
