Positionvehiclescorrectlyforloading,unloading,washing,andmaintenanceactivities. ConductroutinevehiclesafetychecksandreportdefectsinaccordancewithCouncilfleetprocedures. Maintainsafetrafficflowwithinthesite,alwaysensuringsegregationofpedestriansandvehicles. WeighbridgeOperations Operatethesiteweighbridgesystemforallinboundandoutboundvehicles. Accuratelyrecordvehicleweights,wastetypes,origins,anddestinationsinlinewithDutyofCareandregulatoryrequirements. Issueweighbridgeticketsandmaintainaccurateelectronicandmanualrecords. Consultwithdrivers,supervisors,andmanagerstoresolvediscrepanciesoroperationalissues. WasteTransferStationOperations Directvehiclestodesignatedtippingandloadingareasinaccordancewithsiterules. Monitorwasteloadstoensurecorrectsegregationandidentifynon-compliantorprohibitedwaste. Assistwiththeloadingofbulkhaulagevehicles,containers,ortransfertrailersasrequired. Maintainhighstandardsofhousekeepingandcleanlinessacrossthesite. Health,SafetyandEnvironmentalCompliance Workinaccordancewithallrelevanthealthandsafetylegislation,riskassessments,methodstatements,andsafesystemsofwork. ComplywithenvironmentalpermitconditionsandCouncilenvironmentalpolicies. Wearandpromotethecorrectuseofpersonalprotectiveequipment(PPE). Reportaccidents,incidents,nearmisses,hazards,orunsafepracticesinlinewithCouncilprocedures. Supportsiteemergencyarrangements,includingfireprevention,spillresponse,andevacuationprocedures. GeneralDuties Assistwithroutinesiteinspectionsandbasicmaintenancetasksasrequired. Communicateeffectivelywithcolleagues,contractors,andmembersofthepublicwhereappropriate. PersonSpecification EssentialCriteria Experience Experienceofworkinginawastemanagement,depot,orsimilaroperationalenvironment. Experienceofvehiclemanoeuvringorshuntingwithinacontrolledyardenvironment. KnowledgeandSkills Knowledgeofhealthandsafetyrequirementsinhigh-riskoperationalenvironments. Abilitytofollowprocedures,riskassessments,andsafesystemsofwork.
