Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist

The post holder will be working alongside the Band 7 CNS team, supporting patients referred to the London Sarcoma Service.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Band 7 CNS team to support patients referred to the London Sarcoma Service.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, gaining insight into sarcoma management from radiologists, histopathologists, oncologists and surgeons.
• Support patients and their families from referral through diagnostics, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up; assist in MDTs, present information, and advocate for the patient.
• Assist in the CNS‑run Telephone Biopsy Clinic: inform patients of the MDT decision to proceed with a needle biopsy, carry out clinical assessment, and explain the procedure.
• Complete Holistic Needs Assessments (HNA) for patients.
• Visit patients at the ward and participate in post‑operative care.
• Provide communication to patients and families via telephone, email or text.
• Communicate with other professionals in the hospital and outside the Trust.
• Ensure investigations are carried out as per MDT recommendations.
