Milk Education is working in partnership with a brand-new specialist SEMH school opening in Melton Mowbray that is seeking a passionate and dedicated Class Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new school from the very beginning, helping to shape a positive and nurturing learning environment for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging, personalised learning experiences that support pupils to achieve both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with SEMH needs.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies that promote engagement, emotional regulation, and positive outcomes.
- Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, adapting learning plans where required.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, SENCOs, and external professionals.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, social skills, and independence.
- Contribute to the development of a positive school culture as part of a growing and ambitious team.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or within a specialist SEN setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
- Ability to differentiate learning to meet a range of needs and abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
