Overview of Role

The main responsibility of the Renewables Breakdown Engineer will be to provide maintenance and repair services for renewable energy installations. This includes diagnosing and rectifying faults, providing technical support and advice, and ensuring all work is completed in line with safety standards and regulations. The role involves close collaboration with engineering and customer service teams, making effective communication and teamwork vital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair faults within renewable energy central heating and hot water systems across the region.
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers and colleagues.
  • Ensure high levels of customer care in dealing with clients and tenants to meet required quality standards.
  • Communicate updates and progress of work, completing the required paperwork electronically and manually.
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements and legislation, including risk assessments, safe systems of work and COSHH records, are adhered to during daily work.
  • Comply with stock ordering and auditing procedures so relevant parts are available to fulfil job requirements.

Key Requirements & Attributes

  • Friendly and professional attitude, building strong relationships with clients and tenants, ensuring all works meet required standards.
  • Experience in renewable energy heating and hot water systems is essential.
  • Skilled at problem solving and decision making.
  • Gas qualifications are desirable.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Criminal and reference checks required before starting.

Working Hours

Working hours are: 5 days per week (Mon – Fri) 8am to 5pm – 40 hours, with 1 hour for lunch daily.
