Engineering Manager (Cloud)

Role Overview
The purpose of this role is to lead and oversee the cloud infrastructure, security, and governance teams, ensuring platform reliability and cost efficiency, while fostering a culture of automation and continuous improvement within the wider technology team.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing cloud platform/infrastructure teams in a product-led environment
- Hands‑on background with GKE, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, Elasticsearch, CDN/WAF
- Strong grasp of cloud security, IAM, and governance frameworks
- Leadership ability to coach and develop engineers effectively
- Knowledge of FinOps and cost‑optimisation practices
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team across cloud infrastructure, security, governance, and FinOps
- Own platform reliability, disaster recovery planning, incident management, and observability
- Drive automation initiatives, including Infrastructure as Code and Policy‑as‑Code to reduce manual toil and enhance governance
- Collaborate with a Platform Product Manager on roadmaps and OKRs
- Manage vendor relationships and optimise cloud spend
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience managing cloud infrastructure teams in a product environment
- On‑site working in London with flexible hybrid arrangements
- Proven leadership experience in cloud technologies and security frameworks
- Knowledge of relevant tools and platforms including GKE, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, Elasticsearch, CDN/WAF
