Technical Services Manager / Building Services Manager M&E Role
Location: London, with occasional travel to Coventry
Salary: Up to £95,000 + package
The Role
My client is looking to appoint a Technical Services Manager or Building Services Manager to join their growing team.
This is a newly developing area of the business. Over the last two and a half years, the company has been operating on the more traditional side while borrowing building services resource from another part of the business. Due to a strong pipeline of work, they are now looking to build an independent services team and bring in a dedicated TSM or BSM to support upcoming projects.
This role would suit either an established Technical Services Manager / Building Services Manager or someone operating at Assistant level who is ready to step up. The business is open to meeting a range of candidates, provided they have the right attitude, technical understanding and ability to work closely with project teams.
Projects
The company has a number of exciting projects coming through, including:
• RAC Club, Pall Mall
• Embassy projects including Brazil and Poland
• Education schemes including schools and colleges
• Readham School, Woldingham
• Coventry based projects, requiring travel once or twice per week
The work is not heavily commercial fit out focused. The project portfolio is varied, with a strong focus on high profile, technically interesting schemes including embassies, private members clubs, schools and colleges.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and coordinate the building services elements of projects from pre-construction through to completion
• Work closely with project teams, design teams, subcontractors and consultants
• Review drawings, technical submissions and design information
• Support with programme, procurement and delivery of M&E packages
• Ensure services are delivered in line with project requirements, quality standards and client expectations
• Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle
• Attend site meetings and maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Support the wider business as the company continues to build out its dedicated building services function
Candidate Requirements
• Experience as a Technical Services Manager, Building Services Manager or Assistant TSM / BSM
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services
• Experience working on fit out, refurbishment, education, heritage, embassy, private members club or similar projects would be beneficial
• Able to manage technical information and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
• Comfortable working across multiple projects when required
• Willing to travel to Coventry once or twice per week when needed
• Ambitious, flexible and keen to be part of a growing team
