What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Special Edition Key Account Director, this role will be responsible for the smooth running of the special edition process. You will be co‑ordinating text, artwork and other materials to produce custom projects within the Non‑trade team.
Key responsibilities
- Overseeing process and schedules for group special editions, ensuring that all titles are published to a high standard
- Attend divisional workflow meetings and liaise with editorial, production and design to ensure text, covers and artwork run to schedule
- Attend and contribute to customer meetings and support the KAD as an initial point of contact for project management queries
- Alongside the Special Editions KAD, to work closely with commissioning editors to ensure that, from the point of commissioning, project specifications are agreed (to be updated throughout the project), budgets and schedules are set, and associated administration, is done
- To ensure that publications meet schedules and keep key stakeholders up to date with progress. To work with the Key Account Director to propose appropriate corrective action when delays occur.
- To coordinate and manage the set up of text, artwork and additional materials
- To ensure that all associated editorial administration is completed, including processing contractual paperwork, permissions, Biblio housekeeping, archiving, keeping full proof records until a project is completed
- To proofread and sign off covers for press
- Improve workflows, with a focus on customer experience and commercial efficiency
- Network with other key stakeholders across the business to ensure that knowledge is shared, and all divisions are aware of best practice across the Group.

Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will have prior publishing experience in editorial, sales, production or design, and must be:
- A good communicator with a proactive approach and ability to forward think
- Attention to and critical eye for detail
- Ability to think logically, work through problems and suggest solutions
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage deadlines
- Confidence to chase progress with colleagues as necessary
- Sound knowledge of publishing processes

This role can be based at our London office, with a blend of in‑office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
