Trustee – Treasurer (Volunteer Role)

About the role

As volunteer treasurer you will maintain an overview of the organisation’s affairs, ensuring its financial viability, compliance with our charitable objects, company and charity law, and the maintenance of proper financial records and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Chair the Finance Sub-Group, scrutinise The Carers Centre’s management accounts, review finance policies and procedures, and share your interpretation and recommendations to the Board.
• Once a year, undertake an internal review of one aspect of our accounts, separate from the annual external examination of our accounts by Monahan’s.

Requirements and qualifications

• Outstanding communication abilities and an approachable demeanor, fostering positive relationships with Trustees and Senior Leadership Teams.
• Proficiency in translating intricate financial data into easily digestible information for fellow trustees, backed by financial experience and/or qualifications.
• Commitment to invest the necessary time and effort to actively contribute to the strategic vision and leadership of the charity.
• Must provide character references and complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
