Head of Human Resources

Company: Northreach
Apply for the Head of Human Resources
Location: London
Job Description:

We’re partnering with a high-growth fintech redefining how people engage with long-term savings.

With £1BN+ under management, strong backing, and profitability on the horizon, they’re entering a critical phase: scaling the business without losing what makes it a genuinely great place to work.

This is where you come in.

The Role (What You’ll Actually Be Doing)

This isn’t a traditional HR role.

You’ll own the People function end-to-end in a growing, multi-country business (UK + Europe), working directly with the leadership team to shape how the company scales.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Building a high-performance, high-trust culture (not one or the other)
  • Owning all core People operations — contracts, policies, payroll inputs, compliance
  • Designing and embedding a clear, fair performance framework
  • Coaching managers and senior leaders on expectations, feedback, and accountability
  • Managing employee relations with confidence and sound judgement
  • Supporting cross-border operations (UK + European entity)
  • Bringing structure and clarity — without slowing the business down

This is a hands-on role with real influence. You’ll be both strategic partner and operational owner.

What They’re Looking For

You might be:

  • A People Manager / Senior HRBP ready to step up
  • Or an existing Head of People in a smaller business

Either way, you’re comfortable:

  • Running HR autonomously
  • Working closely with execs and challenging where needed
  • Balancing culture, performance, and commercial reality

Key experience:

  • Strong grounding in UK employment law
  • Experience in a scaling business (tech/fintech/start-up preferred)
  • Proven ability to build or improve performance frameworks
  • Confident handling of employee relations independently
  • Exposure to international teams (Europe ideal)

What Makes This Role Different

  • You’ll shape the People function, not inherit layers of legacy
  • Direct access to leadership — real influence on business decisions
  • A company that genuinely cares about being a great place to work
  • The chance to scale culture, structure, and performance at the same time

What This Role Isn’t

  • Not a purely operational HR role
  • Not suited to heavily process-driven, corporate environments
  • Not a team management role (you’ll be the lead)

Details

  • London-based (2–3 days in office)
  • Occasional travel to Europe
