We have the opportunity for appropriately qualified and experienced Emergency Medicine (EM) Advanced Clinical Practitioner(s) to join our amazing team of Enhanced and Advanced level Practitioners within the Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) Directorate at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT).

We are looking for enthusiastic, self‑motivated NMC/HCPC Registered Nurse’s, Paramedics or Physiotherapists with the right attributes to work alongside our multidisciplinary team within the Emergency Department (ED) and integrated Urgent Treatment Care (iUTC) at Peterborough City Hospital (PCH).

We are able to support successful candidate(s) with further academic study and training and developing technical skills. This role also attracts Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) time for Practitioners to undertake personal and service development. Therefore, we look for the candidate(s) with the right attributes and characteristics for our team. We will assess people not only on their academic and technical achievements but on their non‑technical and communication skills.

Our ACP’s also spend time teaching, training, supporting and developing trainee and junior staff from nursing, medical and allied healthcare professional backgrounds as part of their role.

Consideration maybe given to part‑qualified applicants (minimum Post‑Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice) but if successful, pay grade (Band 7) and a development plan would require to be agreed.

The post holder will practice independently within the Consultant led Emergency Department (ED) and integrated Urgent Treatment Centre (iUTC), being a role model of the four pillars of Advanced Practice. This clinically focussed role will encompass the post holder providing exemplary patient‑centred and sound evidence‑based care to patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. The post holder will form part of a multi‑disciplinary team aspiring to achieve local and national standards across different areas of the department, whilst providing formal and informal education, teaching, and mentorship, second opinion advice and support to junior clinicians during a span of duty.

The post holder will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and clinical attributes, enabling him/her to provide expert clinical and professional support to other clinicians and staff within their area of work of the UEC division.

Priority will be given to colleagues identified as at risk through the Trust’s redeployment process.
