The Housing and Communities Directorate within Cardiff Council plays an important role in the vibrancy of the city and is committed to the communities it serves. The Directorate has an ambitious house building scheme and a significant housing stock which is set to exceed 14,000 homes by the end of the year.

About the job

The post is within the Building Improvement Unit’s Compliance Team, which plays a key role in ensuring all statutory requirements in respect of building Health & Safety are fulfilled.

Responsibilities

  • To undertake compliance and risk assessments in relation to the activities undertaken across the Directorate.
  • Support performance and compliance management monitoring of the service.
  • Line manage and oversee the work of compliance assessors and compliance technicians ensuring their work is of a high quality and meets set performance indicators including updating Risk Monitor Live.

What we are looking for from you

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual who can manage this busy, varied and growing area of compliance. You will have a Health & Safety qualification, a proven track record of working in a social housing environment in a similar complex area and be able to manage multiple priorities. You will need a good understanding of existing and proposed legislation, be able to work with external partners and present complex data to service users and senior management.
