SMART Working
We aim to offer flexibility wherever possible. Many of our colleagues work from home one or more days a week and/or adjust their hours. We call this SMART working – giving you the freedom to shape your working pattern around your life, whilst still delivering great outcomes. Speak with the hiring manager about the range of flexible working options available for this role.
About the Role
The Council is embarking on a journey to rethink the way we deliver our services for the future. You will join a busy, friendly, and proactive team, working on a variety of high‑quality projects that bring about change, helping to ensure that Trafford’s services are sustainable, future‑proof, and deliver the best outcomes for residents. As a Project Manager in the Transformation Team, you will support the delivery of key work priorities across the Council, delivering both revenue and capital projects which achieve corporate and borough‑wide benefits. The role benefits from working within a large Transformation team, which delivers projects at pace and in a timely manner to achieve a range of outcomes that support the three corporate priorities and both directorate investment‑led activities or options for savings and change. You will be linked directly with the Business Intelligence Unit and inter‑connected with our Policy and Intelligence & Insight colleagues.
About You
You will need demonstrable experience of stakeholder management and collaboration across services and organisations, delivering to deadlines, working within a budget, and possessing strong project and change management, risk management, process mapping, business analysis and communication skills. Ideally, you have experience of working on projects within a complex organisation, using recognised project management methodology. You should be eager to apply previous skills and experience to new challenges and be capable of establishing and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships across the team, organisation and partnerships. You should hold a minimum of a degree level or equivalent qualification/experience in a related subject and a commitment to your own and others’ personal development.
