Java Backend Engineer – Greenfield Fintech | London (Hybrid)

Multiple levels available: Associate to Senior Lead

We’re partnering with a high-growth fintech accelerator embedded within a major financial services organisation. They’re not modernising legacy systems or patching old code. They’re building brand‑new consumer fintech products from the ground up, with serious investment, a significant product roadmap, and real engineering ownership from day one.

The Tech Stack:

• Spring / Spring Boot
• Observability & distributed tracing tooling

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Designing and building resilient, distributed systems at scale
• Contributing to architectural direction across greenfield platforms
• Driving performance, reliability, and zero‑downtime delivery
• Working in close-knit, product‑led squads alongside product managers and cross‑functional engineering teams
• At senior and lead levels – mentoring engineers and helping shape engineering culture as the organisation grows

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong backend engineering experience in Java or Kotlin
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, event‑driven architecture, and cloud environments
• A genuine sense of ownership – you care about what you ship
• Comfortable in fast‑moving, ambiguous environments where things are still being built
• Collaborative, pragmatic, and focused on continuous improvement
