Overview

Fuel Recruitment is working with a well-established engineering organisation delivering a diverse range of projects across construction, renewable energy, and telecoms sectors. They are looking for a Junior / Graduate Structural Design Engineer with 1–2 years’ experience to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to varied projects and develop your technical capability within a supportive environment. You will work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and analysis of structural elements across multiple sectors, including construction, telecoms, and renewable energy projects
  • Produce calculations, technical drawings, and design documentation in line with relevant standards and codes
  • Support senior engineers in project delivery, including site assessments and inspections where required
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet client and regulatory requirements
  • Review and interpret technical data, specifications, and reports
  • Contribute to project planning, progress tracking, and technical problem-solving

Key Skills / Experience

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or closely related discipline)
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a structural design role (placements or graduate roles considered)
  • Understanding of structural design principles and relevant UK standards
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar (experience with analysis software advantageous)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Interest in working across construction, telecoms, and renewable energy projects
