Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, delivering tangible, impactful, and financial results for Visa’s network clients, including both financial services and merchants. Drawing on expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients. VCA Implementation Services (VIS) augments Visa’s consultancy offering, supporting the execution and implementation of recommendations to help scale competitive advantage and operate to succeed in the digital age.

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to work with some of Visa’s leading clients in the UK&I region. The Programme Lead will be accountable for ensuring the delivered project outcomes align with both client and Visa objectives across all aspects of delivery, including requirement definition, scoping, training, migration/implementation, project planning, risk management, project controls, and stakeholder management.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑level visibility and drive strategic initiatives for client engagements, reporting progress to UK&I VCA and VIS functions while maintaining governance and oversight.
  • Lead deployed Visa teams and manage the delivery strategies of developed solutions with an entrepreneurial spirit, ensuring collaboration and integration between programme tracks.
  • Design teams and source the technical expertise required to deliver high‑quality engagements with our clients.
  • Proactively manage expectations and act as the first line of escalation for client partners and stakeholders on active VIS engagements.
  • Understand our clients’ business objectives, needs, and plans in collaboration with the UK&I Account Management Team.
  • Identify opportunities and improvements to grow the business of both Visa and the client.
  • Develop and propose appropriate project approaches and technical solutions to the client with compelling business cases.
  • Provide thought‑leadership knowledge regarding the future of PayTech and retail banking to our client.
  • Leverage Visa’s innovation, product and data capabilities to further grow our clients’ business by working together with the VCA and product teams.
  • Build and retain Visa Consulting relationships with key client stakeholders.
  • Track funding consumption on all active projects you lead.
  • Capture learnings and create case studies to continually evolve the VIS practice.
  • Develop an excellent understanding of Visa products and services.

This is a hybrid position. The expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in leading technical teams on product feature end‑to‑end delivery.
  • Consistent track record of successful project management delivery across a range of teams.
  • Strong consulting background with the ability to develop and build trusted client relationships and influence design and outcomes of client engagements.
  • Solid understanding of delivery techniques, methodologies, and best practices, with hands‑on experience with Waterfall and Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Substantial experience in retail banking, payment card industry, and/or merchant retail business is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with an ability to measure the financial impact to a client and demonstrate the value that a VIS engagement brings to both the client and Visa.
  • Growth mindset that embraces creativity, optimism, and failing‑fast; comprehensive knowledge of tools and the use of data insights for business growth in a digital and technology‑driven environment.
  • Excellent storytelling, conveying interpretation of evidence and analysis against strategic objectives resulting in explicit recommended actions.

  • Willingness to maintain professional development.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in technical consulting sales.
  • Strong understanding of payments with in‑depth knowledge of virtual card payments, value‑added solutions for corporates, payment tokenization, issuer processing platforms/providers, modern API concepts, technical integration, and file delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean code in SQL and Python, C# or Java with accompanying knowledge of industry‑standard libraries and frameworks.
  • Thought leader with the ability to guide, influence, and inspire performance across the technical development landscape.
