Corporate / Commercial Lawyer
We are recruiting for an experienced Corporate / Commercial Lawyer to join a high-performing and busy in-house legal team within a global, multi-disciplinary services group operating across engineering, environmental and technical sectors.
The Role
You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels, supporting a wide range of corporate and commercial matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day legal advice and support to business units across the group
Advise on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including:
- Drafting and negotiating client contracts, particularly within the international construction and engineering sectors (FIDIC, NEC3/4, JCT)
- General commercial agreements
- International acquisitions, company formations, and restructuring projects
Support on corporate governance and compliance, including:
- Powers of attorney
- Constitutional documents
- Local legal and regulatory obligations across jurisdictions
Assist with the legal integration and onboarding of new businesses into the group
Monitor and communicate legal and regulatory developments to senior stakeholders
Build strong relationships with internal teams to deliver pragmatic, business-oriented advice
Report regularly on legal matters and participate in cross-functional and group-wide forums
Provide ad hoc legal support as required
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with 4+ years PQE
- Strong experience in construction and engineering contracts (FIDIC, NEC3/4, JCT)
- Proven experience advising on international corporate and commercial matters
- Knowledge of civil law systems, particularly within the MEA region, is highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Commercially minded with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative team player with a proactive, hands-on attitude
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities
