About the Role
Full‑time fixed term role until 31st March 2028, supporting the delivery of the Regional Transport Fund (RTF) Programme within Highways Environmental Services (HES). The post will assist project lead officers responsible for planning and delivering a wide variety of grant‑funded projects, including walking and cycling, road safety, passenger transport, highways and electric vehicle charging.
- Support the development of a pipeline of projects, the application process for securing future funding and the associated monitoring and reporting activities.
- Assist in the development, monitoring and maintenance of project‑related documentation and lead on the scheduling, administration and noting of a range of project meetings.
- Demand face‑to‑face, written, verbal and electronic communications with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
About the Candidate
- Project management (e.g. Prince2) or managerial qualification to degree/NVQ5 level or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Good understanding and experience of using various Programme and Project Management tools and techniques.
- Excellent IT skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal, planning and organisational skills with outstanding ability to prioritise and schedule workloads and work within set deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and consistency.
- Experience of working in a Programme / Project Management Office or within a similar environment.
- Good communication skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Our Offer
- Hybrid Working – subject to conditions being met, you may choose to work from home or an office location, although the role will require regular office‑based attendance at times.
- Flexi‑time – hours may be worked within a defined bandwidth, Monday to Friday, subject to service needs.
