About the role
Senior Project Manager – Consents, Licensing & Permits (CL&P) in the UK (hybrid – Derby, Manchester or Warrington) with regular travel to the Czech Republic. You will play a critical role in delivering a first‑of‑a‑kind Small Modular Reactor (SMR) programme in Europe, leading the development and delivery of the regulatory, licensing and permitting strategy across UK and European frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning consent and nuclear licensing workstream across early works and pre‑construction phases.
- Develop and manage licensing documentation to meet EU and Czech regulatory requirements.
- Act as a key interface with regulators, clients and shareholders, supporting compliance activities.
- Translate complex technical outputs into regulatory‑ready submissions with Safety & Regulatory Affairs teams.
- Establish and embed programme governance, reporting and milestone tracking.
- Navigate both UK and EU regulatory frameworks including EIA, DCO and permitting processes.
- Support commercial and contractual alignment, ensuring risks and deliverables are understood.
- Provide thought leadership, influencing stakeholders and shaping consent strategy in a first‑of‑a‑kind programme.
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant experience in senior project or programme leadership roles within nuclear or highly regulated infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of nuclear licensing, permitting and consenting processes.
- Experience working directly with regulatory bodies, ideally within European frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead across complex, multi‑year and multi‑national programmes.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to operate at senior stakeholder level.
- Experience within early‑stage nuclear, SMR or large‑scale infrastructure programmes.
- Degree or equivalent experience in an engineering or scientific discipline.
- Project Management qualifications (or a willingness to work towards them – support provided).

Salary & Benefits
- Pay Range: £60,000 – £78,750
- £2,200 flexible benefit allowance
- 12.5% bonus opportunity
