Responsibilities
- Co‑ordinate and supervise the borough‑based MSK services administrative team, working closely with specialist administration roles.
- Deputise the Admin Manager and manage supervisory staff and electronic systems (S1 booking, ERS and Health rosters).
- Collaborate with business and clinical team/service managers to ensure efficient delivery, management and service improvement of business systems supporting high‑quality frontline clinical services.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to clinical teams and manage referral and appointment systems via the electronic patient database, delivering high‑quality customer service at the interface with patients, carers and other care providers.
Qualifications
- A levels/NVQ3 or equivalent experience, plus GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths.
- Understanding of delivering high‑quality and safe clinical services using digital solutions.
Experience
- Experience working in an NHS, healthcare, charity or local authority environment.
- Experience providing and leading dynamic, high‑quality administration support to teams.
- Understanding of Key Performance indicators/targets related to service delivery.
- Experience using NHS IT systems such as SystmOne, ERS, Cerner, Datix, etc.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of processes, systems and structures used to deliver efficient and effective administration support in a large organisation.
- Knowledge and experience of signposting patients to other services.
- Understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of the principles of good customer care.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team, taking responsibility for individual tasks and providing cover/support to others.
- Ability to work in a busy role whilst maintaining professionalism.
