Head of Planning & Resourcing

£90k – £100k + Bonus & Benefits
I’m currently partnering with a growing technology business in the pensions / financial services space, undergoing a significant transformation driven by new leadership.
They’re now looking to hire a Head of Planning & Resourcing to take ownership of how delivery is planned, prioritised, and resourced across the organisation.
You will sit centrally across the delivery function, owning portfolio planning, demand management and resource allocation, ensuring the business has the right people aligned to the right work at the right time.
This is less about delivering programmes, and more about:
- Owning and evolving portfolio planning and demand management processes
- Driving resource optimisation, capacity planning and utilisation
- Building a clear, centralised view of delivery pipeline and portfolio performance
- Embedding consistent planning frameworks, governance and reporting standards
- Influencing stakeholders across the business to improve prioritisation and decision making
You’ll operate at a senior level, with high visibility and influence across leadership, playing a key role in how delivery matures as the business scales.
What they’re looking for
- Strong background in PMO leadership / Portfolio Planning / Programme Office roles
- Experience managing large, complex delivery portfolios
Expertise in:
- Portfolio planning
- Resource management
- Demand forecasting
- Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence without authority
- Experience in financial services / pensions / regulated environments (preferred)
- Someone who thrives in a growing, evolving environment
- Highly structured, analytical mindset
