Overview

Cyber Security Officer needed in East London Paying £371.04 per day ref 133632

Full-time hours on a temporary basis

Key Responsibilities

  • Security Monitoring: Maintain visibility of the organisation’s security posture through continuous monitoring of security tools, including CrowdStrike Falcon and other log management and monitoring platforms.
  • Incident Response: Review, investigate, and triage security alerts, escalating incidents where appropriate.
  • Threat & Vulnerability Identification: Assist in identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities affecting business operations.

Compliance & Governance Support

  • Support the organisation’s cyber security governance framework and compliance activities.
  • Assist in maintaining alignment with recognised security frameworks such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF).
  • Monitor policy compliance and support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Maintain and update security policies, procedures, and documentation.

Vulnerability Management & Reporting

  • Coordinate regular vulnerability scanning activities across systems, networks, and applications.
  • Analyse vulnerability assessment and penetration testing reports.
  • Prioritise identified risks based on business impact, severity, and compliance requirements.
  • Produce regular reports and recommendations for technical and management teams.
  • Experience or knowledge of penetration testing and web application security would be advantageous.

Remediation Coordination

  • Act as a key liaison between cyber security, infrastructure, and operational teams.
  • Track and monitor remediation activities to ensure identified vulnerabilities are addressed within agreed timescales.
  • Work with system owners to reduce security risks and improve overall security maturity.

Incident & Risk Management

  • Support the maintenance of the Cyber Risk Register and risk management processes.
  • Record and track security risks, control weaknesses, and compliance issues.
  • Assist with security incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and lessons-learned reviews.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives designed to strengthen cyber resilience.
