Peer Advocacy Development Officer | 10672 | Fixed Term Contract until June 2027 | 7.4 hours per week | £29,064 to £31,022 per annum pro rata (Scale F) | Norwich

About the role

Active Norfolk delivers inclusive physical activity projects across Norfolk. The Peer Advocacy Officer will support the delivery of these projects, creating more accessible opportunities for all residents, particularly disabled people. The role involves working with the Inclusion lead to ensure user‑led feedback drives actions that have real impact. The position is a one‑year fixed term role, with hybrid working from our office base at Easton College, Norwich.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to deliver inclusive projects and programmes.
  • Advocate for disabled people by collecting and shaping user voices, both internally and externally.
  • Work alongside the Inclusion Lead to direct user‑led feedback to actions with the greatest impact.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and monitoring of accessibility initiatives.
  • Support the communication and promotion of accessible activity opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience in disability advocacy, inclusive sport/physical activity, or related fields.
  • Lived experience of disability, demonstrating first‑hand understanding of barriers to participation.
  • Proactive, innovative approach to problem‑solving and user engagement.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Desire to work in a hybrid environment and support a diverse workforce.
