Role

Technical Project Manager within the Plug & Play team. A delivery‑focused role that leads the coordination and execution of standardised, repeatable solutions for major infrastructure programmes, supporting one of the UK’s largest capital investment initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the planning and delivery of projects, with a focus on:
    • Programme management and scheduling
    • Budget control and cost management
    • Coordination of multidisciplinary engineering and delivery teams
  • Manage projects from concept through to delivery and handover
  • Ensure clear governance, reporting and decision‑making throughout the project lifecycle
  • Drive consistency in delivery across multiple projects and workstreams

Technical Oversight

  • Support teams to deliver practical, buildable solutions aligned with project requirements
  • Review and challenge inputs from designers, consultants and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Facilitate resolution of technical issues through collaboration with engineering teams

Innovation & Standardisation

  • Implement and roll out repeatable or standard product solutions
  • Drive efficiency through improved processes, lessons learned and continuous improvement
  • Promote standardisation to enhance delivery speed, cost efficiency and quality outcomes
  • Contribute to development of delivery frameworks, processes and best practices

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and external stakeholders
  • Serve as the key interface between product, design and delivery teams
  • Ensure alignment across all parties to achieve project objectives
  • Support effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle

Risk & Quality Management

  • Identify, manage and mitigate project and delivery risks
  • Ensure projects meet health & safety (CDM), programme, cost, constructability, delivery and whole‑life quality performance requirements
  • Drive a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement

Essential Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Significant experience delivering complex infrastructure or engineering projects, particularly in multidisciplinary coordination and capital project delivery across design and construction phases
  • Strong working knowledge of project delivery methodologies (waterfall, stage‑gate, agile where applicable)
  • Commercial and cost management principles
  • Programme planning and scheduling tools
  • Experience managing consultants, contractors and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to drive projects forward, resolve issues and deliver practical outcomes

Level

Ideally operating at Senior Project Manager level; strong Project Managers or Advance professionals will also be considered.

  • Understanding of CDM regulations and project delivery responsibilities
  • Professional certification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP) or working towards one
  • Experience driving cost optimisation, efficiencies or value‑led delivery
