About the Role

Maintenance Engineer Level 2 (Single Skilled) | Level 3 (Multi Skilled)

Location: Hereford Grandstand

Salary

  • Level 2: £29,000 – £37,000
  • Level 3: £35,000 – £43,000
  • Level 4: £39,000 – £47,000

Additional annual shift premium: £7,785

Shift Pattern

Average of 42 hours per week across a rolling 5‑week rotation covering days and nights.

  • Day Shift: 07:00 – 19:00
  • Night Shift: 19:00 – 07:00

Weekly rotation (Week 1–5 details). Every 20 weeks there is an additional CI weekend shift (Saturday & Sunday days), falling between Week 5 and Week 1.

You Will Play a Key Role In

  • Maximising equipment reliability
  • Minimising downtime
  • Supporting production efficiency
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery
  • Diagnose faults quickly and implement effective repairs
  • Maintain conveyors, processing equipment, and packaging machinery
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and hygiene standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and safety
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately and on time
  • Maintain accurate engineering stores stock records

Level 2 – Single Skilled Engineer Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Previous maintenance engineering experience
  • Strong fault‑finding ability within your core discipline
  • Experience within manufacturing or production environments
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Desire to develop additional engineering disciplines and progress your career

Level 3 – Multi Skilled Engineer Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi‑Skilled Engineering
  • Proven experience as a multi‑skilled maintenance engineer
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
  • Experience with VSDs, PLC systems, and automated production lines advantageous
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing and hygiene standards desirable
  • Experience with process machinery desirable
  • Motivated to continue professional development and further education
